Meeting the wise healing inside. I never knew she was there. I pictured an old woman with long white hair but smooth skin and a peaceful- happy face. This is no woman I have met in my life but one I have fabricated. Every time I do this meditation the woman looks a little more like me... with a tan and better vision.
It does get easier to picture and easier to meditate. At least when you don't have a family emergency like your 14 year old niece (not by blood) deciding to take 30 midol all at the same time (she made it but we still don't have many answers why).
I believe since starting to meditate on a regular basis I am able to be a little less reactive to things as they come. I can exercise a little more control over my self and emotions. Which is good because it stopped me from buying a plain ticket back home and getting in the middle of all this mess when I have not control over any of it.... Baby steps..
As for "one cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" I find it pretty cut and dry. If we do not live and lead the path of great health and better living than who will want to listen to us talk about it? I know my niece probably doesn't want to talk to many people right now but you know what I did go through some of the same experiences she is now. I wanted to die when I was younger but made a pact with my twin to never put the other through that again after our mom killed herself.
If we do not know what is down that path/road than how can we give advice to those taking it?

Hello Cassy,
ReplyDeleteSorry about your troubles, but at least you have a more settled disposition and are able to think things through. Keep trusting in yourself and your abilities and things will work out.
About your wise woman... I think it is nice that as you evolve so does her features. It just another validation that the power is already in you and that the stronger you get the less dependent you will be on others. Take care and may your life be filled with blessings.

I like the idea about the woman you do not know. Maybe it's easier for you to see her and relate, because you dont feel she will judge you. As for your niece, she is in a bad place right now, but hopefully with loved ones around her, she will get the help she seeks. Maybe sending her a note about how important she is to the world and you all, she will some day understand that.

Cassy-
ReplyDeleteThe person that you are envisioning could very well be yourself. It sounds as though meditation has made a very positive impact on your life and I am so sorry to hear about your family member that is struggling with suicidal thoughts. Having that on your plate is very difficult and mental illness is so devastating. After the horrible experiences in my own personal life with suicide I cannot even begin to tell you my sorrow for your cousin’s ill thoughts. It sounds like you are making progress though…baby steps. I do however feel you can help people in situations you have not personally been in yourself, not to tell them that you understand, but to be there and be supportive of them. Thank you for sharing your blog.

Hi Cassy,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog.. That is neat that the woman you visualized started looking more and more ,like you. The mind is so powerful and will lead us onto many different paths, this is where we must choose the right one. Mediating and prayer can help us do just that! Sorry to hear about your niece, she will be in my thoughts and prayers. It is hard growing up this day and age. Time will heal. The saying, I viewed the saying as if one has never been there and done that, it is hard to help someone or guide them. For instance, I have gone through some darkness and if someone is on that path, I may can shed some light on their path and steer them away from it because I can honestly say I do understand and I know how you feel. Addiction is my struggle and boooy.. it is so hard to change. I am trying though, day by day or should I say hour by hour. :)Great blog!!! Have a great week!
