In this post we are to discuss which of the practices we like best and to choose two. I don't think I can. I enjoyed the subtle mind and loving kindness exercises but I also used them most because they were readily available, already recorded and ready to listen. If all the exercises (visualizations included) were pre-recorded I think it would be a bit more even to judge.
I have been exposed to the idea of meditation for a long time, even my dad tried to get me to meditate when I was 9, but kids don't want to sit still. It has taken me till now to learn the great benefits of this and hopefully I can keep my head out of my katukus long enough to make this a steady habit.

ReplyDeleteYou make a good point about the exercises being pre recorded. I can actually say I took time out for myself this morning to do some meditating. It lasted about 20 minutes and I think the results were very beneficial in getting my day started. I need to focus on making this a steady habit as well. Have a great Saturday. Craig
Good Morning
ReplyDeleteWow, your dad was on the right track, but yeah, kids wont sit still for it. I use Pandora to help me meditate. They have a meditation station you can use. I then practice my deep breathing and visualization. It has made a big difference.

Cassy-
ReplyDeleteYou bring up and interesting point- making meditation a steady habit! I struggle in this area as well. We all know that we must take time in order for ourselves and our mental fitness, but sometimes when there is no time to be had that is a rather difficult task! It sounds like you are making a great attempt though. That is awesome that your dad tried to get you to meditate at the age of 9!
